… Our little town Village is beautiful!
As you may have noticed MLK Jr day is coming up this Monday. If you are around town and looking for a way to celebrate his life, the South Orange Maplewood Community Coalition On Race is holding their 14th annual MLK Day Celebration. This year St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 767 Prospect St. is hosting the interfaith service at 2:00pm and the Volunteer fair to follow. The guest speaker will be Joseph Ford, a fellow community member who was a Selma Freedom Rider.
So as I was traveling around town this past weekend, I saw something that caught my eye in South Orange. Looks like It has been cold enough lately that the pond by the middle school has frozen over! If you are looking for some winter fun keep a look out for the flag next to the pond house as if it is a green flag, skating on the ice is a go. However if it is Red then they town still thinks it is dangerous skating conditions.
Stay safe, stay warm and have fun everyone!
Well it has been a very crazy year… and it seems to have been a MUCH shorter year than usual! There have been many changes in life, some better than others. This year for the most part has flown by and I am still astonished that it is over already!
Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to Come!
Looking for a way to show your hometown pride? Try getting some of these drinking glasses!
I stumbled upon these when I did a search for Maplewood on google last night and I have to say I’m impressed they had MapSo as one of the options.
If any of you are inclined to purchase some of this fine drinking ware the website is here:
